What one of our 2008 Hunters had to say
"Just want to let you know we got back safely and I have to tell you we had the most wonderful and memorable trip ever. You guys were the greatest. Once again Thank You Very Much. Lynn"
Your hunt starts at Deer Lake, Newfoundland

Deer Lake has a beautiful airport for those who would like to fly. Air Canada is the most used airline by our hunters with connections in most major cities. If you arrive early or would like to stay longer we have arrangements with the Deer Lake Motel for reduced rates. (just mention NBGA)
Newfoundland is also served by Marine-Atlantic Auto Ferry for those who would like to drive. The Ferry travels from North Sydney, Nova Scotia to Port Aux Basques, Newfoundland. A drive from New York would take approximately 16 hours to North Sydney, 6 hours on the ferry, and then a three hour drive to Deer Lake. The Ferry has rooms so you can sleep during your crossing. Driving is your best bet if you and your huntiny party would like to bring your meat back. Meat cutting, storage and shipping can be arranged in Deer Lake.
Newfoundland Big Game Adventures host only top quality guides. Hunts are 2 X 1 but can be 1 X 1 for $500 extra. The hunting season for Bear runs early June to early July. Moose, Caribou and Fall Bear runs mid September to early December. A pre-season of two weeks is held for bow hunting alone, however, you can bow hunt throughout the regular hunting season also.
For Taxidermy in the U.S. we use John Noon Taxidermy. Check out his web site and see all he has to offer.
Canadian Customs requires that all firearms transported into Canada must be declared and accompanied by Form CAFC 909 in triplicate. You can obtain forms and learn more about Canadian firearms law at Canada Firearms.
Any non-Canadian who possesses a criminal record may not be allowed into Canada. A Permit is required to be completed before traveling. Even a DUI conviction may prevent passage into Canada. For more information go to Canada Border Crossing Services.
To learn more about Newfoundland you can go to Newfoundland and Labrador Tourism.
Like to see what the weather is like? Go to the Highway Cam at Pynn's Brook which is not far from Deer Lake.
